Recently, tinkering with Resource Hacker. Modifying custom themes by replacing assets is too much of a pain since it cannot be previewed instantly as you did in Metrics & Fonts. This functionality can ease and extend the customization of Windows.

I'm sorry, I can't do it now. Maybe in the future but with a weak possibility.

This will take too much effort as there are dozens/hundreds of images and data inside the msstyles that requires modification. And I am so busy nowdays.

There is an open source application that edits the msstyles, search for msstylesEditor in GitHub. As I remember, it supports testing the msstyles while editing.

Modifying custom themes by replacing assets is too much of a pain since it cannot be previewed instantly as you did in Metrics & Fonts.

Actually the preview (Like in main page and Metrics/Fonts) is not dependent on msstyles at all. I never used it except for Windows XP preview. The preview you saw is designed/rendered from init (The preview is coded and I used some PNGs to help me designing a preview close to the actual Windows look).
