scaling option not being respected

ive got a 16:9 1440p monitor and the wall paper im trying to use has a wider aspect ratio. when trying to use scaling fill there are still parts of the wallpaper that are getting stretched to the top and bottom of my screen. this use to work and im not sure when it stopped.

linux-wallpaperengine --screen-root DP-5 --silent --no-audio-processing --scaling fill 2473567755

doesnt anymore, still works if scaling is put before screen-root tho eg

linux-wallpaperengine --scaling fill --screen-root DP-5 --silent --no-audio-processing 2473567755
