Update instructions:

Most custom blocks will break after the update. To avoid issues, break all blocks and store them in a chest. Some blocks relating to fluids (namely pipes and tanks) won't work at all after updating and will need to be replaced via commands. After updating, item text will appear broken, however the items will function normally.

Patch Notes:

  • Updated to MC 1.20
  • Replaced Mechanization's old fluid system with the new FluidCrafting library. This makes working with & maintaining the fluid system much easier and isn't something I dread every time I work on Mech.
  • Added Pipe Wrench, which enables viewing & modifying which sides of a machine input & output fluids
  • Updated string localization format to be consistant with vanilla MC's format (this is why text is broken)
  • Implemented Smithed Actionbar for better actionbar cross-datapack support (at least when people start using it...)
  • Added a GUI 'Energy Bar' to most machines, allowing you to see energy levels without a multimeter
  • Added an interaction based 'block hitbox' around blocks that use a barrier. Punching this box 3 times quickly will break the block, preventing indestructible traps.
  • Added Custom Damage types where relevant
  • Mechanical Manual apps can now be switched from a Lectern
  • Renamed "Stone Cutter" to "Auto Stonecutter"
  • Fixed several issues with the MSS Terminal, including Count not being displayed, dropped items being stuck with MSS data, unstackable items not storing properly, and others
  • Fixed wood types missing from the Grinder
  • Fixed Quarry stopping when interacting with certain blocks (ie. dripstone)
  • Fixed Tin costs being doubled in the Casting Basin
  • Fixed ores generating in higher quantities & elevations then intended
  • Fixed lava buckets used as fuel to smelt custom items being deleted

Rebalancing:

  • Arc Furnace with Ender Upgrade bonus increased from 25% -> 33% so bonus output is an even 3 nuggets
  • Casting Basin Machine Upgrade & Ender Upgrade reduce casting casts by 1 ingot instead of 0.5 ingots
  • Changed Machine Frame recipes to reflect other changes
  • Ender/Nether Upgrades are now slightly cheaper
  • Crystal Composite amethyst cost increased 2 -> 8
  • Conductive Alloy redstone cost decreased 16 -> 8
  • Nerfed Modular Armor speed upgrades slightly
  • Modular Armor equipped with an Elytra will now damage the Elytra when flying instead of all the plates

This version of Mechanization is not compatible with previous versions. Breaking and replacing blocks won't work this time. The best you can do is place everything in a chest and manually refund the items with loot give @s loot mechanization: after updating. While this update does not add much new content, nearly every line of code is being updated to modern standards so Mech can work with the new embedded library system which should make Mech easier to maintain moving forward.

Update includes:

  • Update to MC 1.19.X
  • Removes Datapack Utils as a dependency, instead using new embedded libraries. You no longer need to download a separate datapack to play Mech.
  • Most machines now have redstone control. It's "always on" by default, but can be toggled to "redstone power to activate" and "redstone power to deactivate" using a multimeter
  • Added the GPS, which now has the ability to save block locations like the multimeter previously did
  • Significantly buffed the durability of rods/plates/gears used as upgrades, and added unbreaking modifiers to help even more
  • Rebalanced EPAC upgrades
  • Added Sonic Barrel: unleash the power of Echo Shards on your enemies
  • Updated Models, Sounds, and bug fixes

Mechanization: Compat makes a return with the following features:

  • SimplEnergy: Simplunium can be processed by Mech machines, and can be used to create rods, plates, and gears to upgrade equipment
  • Florcraft: essence alloys can be used to create rods, plates, and gears to upgrade equipment, giving Florcraft based abilities
  • Various datapacks have compat with Pneumatic Tubing, including SimplEnergy, Stardust Fragment, The Creeper's Code, and Dinos and Dodos
  • Various datapacks' custom music discs have compat with the Auto Jukebox, including The Creeper's Code, Ocean Additions, and Manic

This update does not include Mechanization: Nuclear. I have decided to exclude it from the update while I work on giving it a badly needed overhaul.

This is the final prerelease. Just some final cleanup & bug fixes. To avoid delaying the release of Mech I have decided to postpone updating the Nuclear module while I work on remaking it.
