Workflow 2D merging

The overview workflow of merging non-tilted images in 2dx is described as below:

Generating an initial reference:

We choose an image with best QVal and set this as the reference to align all other images.

Refining the Phase Origins:

In 2dx rather than doing alignment manipulations in Real space, we use Phases in Fourier space and try to bring the phases of the images to the same origin. MRC program ORIGTILT does this for us!

Merge all the images to generate new reference

Now all the images can be merged and can be used to generate a new reference.

Iteratively refine the dataset to the reference
