biber documentation not found by mthelp and texdoc

• I have read and acknowledged this HOWTO article:
  Submitting a MiKTeX problem report

• Possibly related: Documentation not found #844
• biber__doc package is installed
• I can open the documentation ~/.miktex/texmfs/install/doc/biber/biber.pdf from the GUI console
• However, mthelp and texdoc cannot find the document:

$ /opt/miktex/bin/mthelp biber 

Sorry, but "MiKTeX Help Utility" did not succeed.

The log file hopefully contains the information to get MiKTeX going again:

I can confirm that this bug persists in v22.10. @edocevoli Could you please take a look before it's closed due to inactivity? Thank you very much!

An update: texdoc --view biber does work and opens the documentation biber.pdf directly.
