As a bench scientist, I should be able to visit one data entry screen for a fixed combination of extraction - RT - PCR parameters, fill in whatever varies, and have PCR replicates pop out the other side. In particular, I shouldn't have to select enzymes, kits, or primers, or specify the details of each PCR round, once I've picked my protocol, and I shouldn't have to click through multiple pages to get it done.

I'm agnostic as of this writing as to how we might implement this, whether the database is involved in abstracting things of this kind, whether this can exploit the Importer machinery, etc.
