I can help out with this one. Any thoughts on a more "open" file format rather than PPT?

I use a free flowchart app that outputs XML called Draw.io. It might be a good format for versioning with Git while maintaining an easily editable flow chart using their platform.

Or we can go with SVG which is technically XML as well.

Funny small world history, I used to be involved with Gaudenz on the JGraph precursor to draw.io.
