This project showcases the use of Power Query and DAX Query to analyze Employee' attendance data, adding new measures and columns. Creation of a dashboard using Power BI. The goal is to provide insights into attendance patterns and identify areas for improvement for HR.
Power BI (Power Query, DAX, Data modeling)
- Open Excel and connect to your employee attendance data.
- Use Power Query to clean and transform the data.
- Load all the necessary tables/ Sheets in Power Query.
- Apply all necessary cleaning steps, such as removing duplicates, renaming columns, changing data types, Transposing into desired generic format.
- After this, Go to Append the Queries option and create new sheet/ table by selecting all the sheets.
- Unload other sheets, those will not be visible in 'Report View'.
- Load and Apply the combined and cleaned sheet into Power BI.
With DAX Query, we can effectively manipulate and analyze the data to provide insights for visulization and identify areas for improvement for HR. Create Measures and columns Using DAX functions such as count, sum, calculate, if, divide and Date-time function for exploring some clean data for improve dashboard KPI in PowerBI.
- Design the dashboard layout
- Create a measure table to aggregate and display the data using DAX functions
- Use Visulizations for charts and filters for filter dashboard
- Now, Add Title Presence Insights
- Add Month column as Slicer and add some informative KPI.
- Add Card charts, Stacked Area Chart, Table chart, Matrix chart, etc
