I just want to make a point here. Standards may be more widely used but they are created by educators for educators. We are trying to push a conversation to make CBE more student centered. A piece of this work is related to how we define competency and skill. For us, the language of competencies are student-facing. They are written for students to use to self-assess. Additionally, skills are a more general term than standards.
