May be nice to have:

instance Num a => Num (SqlExpr (Value a)) where
    fromInteger = val .fromInteger
    (+) = (+.) 
    (*) = (*.)
    -- etc...

instance IsString a => IsString (SqlExpr (Value a)) where
    fromString = val . fromString
