Currently it depends on firebase

DB can be agnostic, we'll just need to set up websockets to the API and client

This could either be via having a separate service that manages the calls (which means a service then needs to be hosted somewhere) or by having the DB handlers as separate packages that need installing (how would that work? like say babel presets etc)
