We have two PRs that are in progress atm that stop blocking on receives. cometbft/cometbft#3209 and cometbft/cometbft#3230. We should port them to a branch that can be used by knuu (or testground (what is currently working atm 馃槩)

still needs some debugging when we combine both the mutex contention PR and the not blocking on receives https://github.com/celestiaorg/celestia-core/commits/testground/big-blonks-base/
