Hello I am trying to rebuild the dataclearner using source files for V5.8.1 with
Java version: 18.0.2.1,
Apache Maven 3.8.6
javac 18.0.2.1

/DQTOOL/DataCleaner/engine/utils/src/main/java/org/datacleaner/util/ReadObjectBuilder.java:[50,19] expected
[ERROR] /C:/Users/vikram/Downloads/DQTOOL/DataCleaner/engine/utils/src/main/java/org/datacleaner/util/ReadObjectBuilder.java:[52,26] illegal start of type
[ERROR] /C:/Users/vikram/Downloads/DQTOOL/DataCleaner/engine/utils/src/main/java/org/datacleaner/util/ReadObjectBuilder.java:[70,1] illegal start of expression

can you please help me. i am stuck with this for last 4 days now

Have you tried with Java versions 9-17? Those are listed as the ones supported with the DC 5.8.1 release.
