-Is there a trend as to where these incidents occurred? (plot on map)
-Is there anything in common with the ships that had multiple incidents?
-What ship crews sustained injuries? Is there anything in common between them?
-What countries had the most incidents?
-Are there certain times of year where piracy incidents are more common?
-Are there any events that spur more piracy incidents?

Potential Questions to answer about piracy:
Where are the hotspots for piracy?
Analyze by time of year, election years, piracy groups, major weather events, type of cargo
Is there any pattern in the location of the most lucrative piracy operations?
What is the average time it takes for piracy acts to start back up in an area after:
A major piracy success
A major piracy failure (huge bust, arrest, etc)
Could do it by region or by group

Important factors to understand:
What proportion of attacked ships had protection?
Protection type:
Mercenary forces
Organic forces
Military escort
Etc?
What was the outcome of these piracy attempts broken down by the protection they went against?
Are all protections created equally?
Correlation between coastal country’s naval power index and proclivity for piracy?
Could split analysis into open water piracy and coastal piracy
Two different endeavors with far different resources necessary to carry it out

General Thoughts:
Do we want to zoom in on one region or do this globally? INDOPACOM?
How deep in the weeds do we really wanna go? - I feel thesis level efforts in some of these thoughts
Who could we reach out to for potential questions or analysis that they need done? Any professors or people int he Maritime Gray Zone Research Task Force?
