Welcome to the WAC Certificate Selector wiki!

The Windows Admin Center Certificate (WAC) Selector tool provides a graphical interface to easily manage the PKI certificate used by your installed of WAC.

How to use the WAC Certificate Selector

WAC Certificate Selector has only a single dialog box interface. If you use the MSI installer and are running a graphical version of Windows Server, it created an icon in your Start menu. Otherwise, execute CertWAC.exe from a command prompt.

When the program is running, follow these simple steps to select a certificate:

  1. Select a certificate from the drop-down Certificates list.
  2. Review the certificate's details in the large text box to ensure you have selected the correct certificate.
  3. Verify that all four of the Applicability Checks passed.
  4. Click OK.

The WAC Certificate Selector will invoke Windows Installer to instruct Windows Admin Center to use the selected certificate. That operation does cause a brief interruption for WAC while it restarts the service.

Known Issues

The glyph for the drop-down box is not the normal arrow when running on Windows Server Core.
