The Colombian Ministry of Health presents an age division for different life cycles, in which people are grouped within specific age ranges, as shown in the following link: https://www.minsalud.gov.co/proteccionsocial/Paginas/cicloVida.aspx
It is ideal to include this type of division in the functions that allow the analysis of different age ranges, such as age_risk or pyramid_population.

According to the Colombian Ministry of Health, the life courses are divided into:

  • Early Childhood (0–5 years)
  • Infancy (6–11 years)
  • Adolescence (12–18 years)
  • Youth (14–26 years)
  • Adulthood (27–59 years)
  • Elderly (60 years or more) aging and old age.

However, there is an overlapping age range between adolescence and youth, which leads to the question of how to classify people in this age range.
