I am having issues with clean not deleting ANY files and also not reading file paths.

I have a seperate grunt-contrib-clean.js file with the following.
module.exports = function(grunt) { grunt.config('clean', { Falsetto: { FWmain: ['js/FWmain.js'], FWmainMin: ['js/FWmain.min.js'], }, clean: { js: ['deploy/js/*.js', '!deploy/js/*.min.js'] } }); };
which results in the following.
