Installation and setup

How do I install Hive Android?

Go to Google Play store > search for "Hive Bitcoin wallet" > Install.

How do I uninstall it?

There are two ways to do it:

Go to Google Play store > search for "Hive Bitcoin wallet" > Uninstall OR Go to Settings > Apps > Hive > Uninstall.

Before uninstalling, keep in mind that any amount of coins you have in your wallet will be deleted once you uninstalled the wallet app unless you have a backup of it.

I have the Mac app of Hive. Can I merge my current wallet with my Android wallet?

That is unfortunately not possible at the moment. Consider both wallets different from each other and use each wallet specifically for spending and storing your coins.

###Transactions

How can I generate a new address for a transaction?

Unfortunately, you can't do so at the moment. However, once we integrate our web and iOS app to our Android wallet, you won't have to manually create new addresses every time because our wallet will instantly make new addresses for every transaction.

How long will it take for my transaction to be sent?

It would normally depend on how reliable your connection is, but it would usually take about half an hour for the transaction to be confirmed.

How much do you charge for every transaction?

The Bitcoin network generally requires .0001 BTC for every transaction - it's a very small amount of money!

I've read you offer multicurrency integration. Where can I find my Litecoin address?

Sorry, our Litecoin integration is only available right now with our Hive Web wallet. We will be unifying our wallets which will allow support for other tokens soon.

###Waggle Feature

To learn about Waggle and how it functions, check out here.

####How can I use the Waggle feature in Android?

Go to Add contact > Find users nearby. Make sure that both boxes for searches via Bluetooth and Hive server are checked. From there, Click Start search and permit your phone to turn on your Bluetooth. A list of Hive users will appear and click the wallet that you want to add and transact with.

###Misc.

####How can I change mBTC to BTC?

Go to settings of the main screen > settings > Denomination and precision. Choose the option "BTC, 4 digits".

####How can I change the currency for the exchange rates?

Click the exchange rate > choose desired currency > pin it OR Go to Main settings > Exchange Rates > choose desired currency > pin it.

###Wallet backup

####How can I back up my keys?

Go to main menu screen > Safety > Back up wallet. From there, a dialog box will appear and it will ask for a password. Type your chosen password and make sure to jot your password somewhere safe! After that, send the backup to where you want to send it to, such as your personal email.

How will I restore my wallet?

Install the Hive wallet app from the Google Play store. From Main settings > Safety > Restore wallet. A dialog box will appear. Type the password you have chosen when you had your wallet back up and it will restore your wallet afterwards. Remember that once you restore you wallet, you will lose any coins you have to your current wallet unless you have a separate backup for that.

I forgot my password. Is there any chance for me to restore it?

Sorry, but we don't have your password on our server. Hopefully you might remember your password.

How can I sweep my paper wallet?

Go to main settings > Sweep paper wallet

Security

How secure is it?

On Android apps are sandboxed from each other. So even if you accidentally install a malicious app it will not necessarily be able to access your Hive wallet. We recommend to use your mobile wallet only for small amounts though and create a backup with a strong password.

Will you have 2FA for phones?

Second factor authentication is ultimately the idea of requiring a second factor before you can access your funds. However, with all Hive wallets you are in total control of your own funds, which means 2FA isn't possible in the traditional sense. With a mobile wallet an additional difficulty exists in the fact, that 2FA codes are often sent to your phone, which in this case is also where your wallet lives, defeating some of the purpose of a second factor. Long term we however would like to move to using multi signature accounts, with Hive holding some of the keys, to be able to provide proper 2FA.
