There is no option to update/check for updates.
Also, beacon is behind other chromium browsers. This means that is is vulnerable to the various 0-day problems chrome has had recently.

Thanks for reporting this. Beacon is still in beta. Automated updates are still on the todo list. Having said that, we still need to keep it up to date with the latest chromium version so we will work on this soon.
