Another heuristic to determine the exploration-worthiness of a node is the local value, which is determined by the rate, at which by the end of a playout an occupation of the board has still the same color as in the beginning of the playout.
The higher this value is, the more stable this stone can be considered. How to exactly uses this heuristic though, needs to be investigated.
