I created a generic application bootstrapping framework that I call 'foundation'; it actually started from the original code of this application. It is now time for the 'foundation' API to be published as a stand-alone project and for the VirtualDesktop to use it.

p.s. One of the benefits of the 'foundation' API is that it promotes this very paradigm where applications can either be started standalone from the OS command line -- or, be started within a "hosted desktop" environment such as VirtualDesktop.
