  • machine-os-content may be replaced with rhel-coreos in the future release.

The rhel-coreos-8 ostree native container image replaces the machine-os-content image starting in OCP 4.12. In OCP 4.13, the image is rhel-coreos. I believe the plan is for future builds to stop producing machine-os-content images, but I'm not sure exactly when that will happen (or if it's happening already).
