The bump at dv~1000 km/s is when the spectrum is more galaxy like, e.g. 4235554510758: https://dr12.sdss.org/optical/spectrum/view. Then the fit is unable to get the broad emission line and the higher lines get switch to [NII]λ6585 (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1507.07979.pdf). It shows that we need to rerun the PCA to get these objects back.
