Unclear the cases pool detective is trying to detect #7

I was unclear as to all of the cases the pool detective is trying to detect. Is the home page the best place to figure this out?

The one that I am more interested in is large reorgs in proof of work chains

Also I was wondering if there is a broad consensus around large reorgs being harmful
