Could you be running into USB VBUS issues as described here? https://github.com/mriscoc/Ender3V2S1/wiki/Octoprint#important I use one of these to disconnect the USB V+ power line and I stopped having as many random failures due to comm between Octoprint and the printer: PortaPow USB Power Blocker... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094FYL9QT Additionally, if you are using a long (>3ft/1m) USB cable, make certain it is away from 120/240v main power cables. I would still very rarely get a printer failure even with the power blocker; turns out I had a huge resistive+motor load (space heater) in the next room over, sharing that wall on the same electrical circuit, that was sending interference into the power lines as it kicked on. My USB cable was running immediately alongside the printer power cable. Note, this interference was slight enough that my UPS couldn't correct for it, but plenty enough to kill a print in progress. Once I figured out it was the heater cycling in the other room, I fixed the issue by physically separating the paths of the 120VAC and USB cables to the printer by about 18" and it never happened again. In short, the printer has basically no error correction capabilities on that serial connection - totally "old school" protocol. ANYTHING interfering on that USB line will mess up the communication and then either the printer or octoprint is going to stutter or completely crash out of the job. The less cable length, more shielding, and more distance from AC power lines you can manage = the better your stability will be. Oh, and if you didn't have these issues on stock FW, it could be due to stock FW using a lower data rate (128kbps), resulting in longer bitwise timing and more reliability under less than ideal conditions. |

I tried every version available but nothing works. All the versions create the same problem. After homing the Z axis goes up an additional 7mm and stays there. When running the tramming wizard or the Auto Build Mesh the Z axis doesn't go down far enough to actually probe the bed. Stock Creality firmware works perfect. So thats what I'm going to run. It's an V4.2.7 board with a V2 Dacai display. |

I was having similar issue on an E3. I had to turn off the z-axis software limit sensor. This way the probe would go down till it triggered instead of using the z-axis limit switch. For the 1st time you try this make sure you the probe is deployed and that it triggers and stops properly otherwise your nozzle will hit the bed.....I made this mistake and cut the power fast. |

Released "Special_Configurations" do not match released "Ender3V2S1". Files are all marked 06/11/23! I generated Ender3V2-422-MM-HomeOffs-IS-LA-MPC with both the "Special_Configurations DEMO" and the "Special_Configurations MASTER" version. First one works (after some editing - see bottom), second one crashed printer - Had to revert to Creality firmware to recover! Comparing "original configuration files" from each of the two "Special_Configurations" with released software show released "Ender3V2S1" configurations are closer to "Special_Configurations MASTER". "Special_Configurations MASTER" is the only version that contains the latest changes described in changes.h in "Ender3V2S1"; #elif defined(FOLDER_SORTING) |

I was able to compile and get Special_Configurations to work on my E3V2 (v4.2.7 board) only by running the configuratator (the latest source code build, which as of right now was the Nov. 2023 release) and then merging necessary files with the September release of "Ender3V2S1". Will need to wait for "Special_Configurations" source code to match the current build of Ender3V2S1. Below was my generation json: |

From GitHub download the current code status (click [CODE] and select "Local" and Download.zip) and unpack. Same with "Special_Configurations"... Unpack and run configurator. Move configs to "Marlin" folder and compile. Worked for my Ender3V2-422-MM-IS-LA-MPC. The "Release ZIPs" had some issues not long ago. |

I am now releasing the Ender3S1-F1 and Ender3S1-F1-UBL-MPC versions. If a bug is found later, it will be added to a list of known bugs and fixes will be released in the next version, perhaps in late January. |

I have the Ender3V2-422 but I've upgraded to the Sprite Extruder Pro (SEP) and a CR Touch. I know this basically now makes my printer an Ender S1. So how do I get my CR touch to see the whole bed in conjunction with the SEP head. Currently the CRT identified the center of my bed about 20mm too far forward (due to the SEP dimensions) |

The probe cannot take height data if the bed is severy unleveled, try to first manually tram your bed. If you manually tramming your bed and the wizard continue to show error, could be a probe settings failure, please check with https://github.com/mriscoc/Ender3V2S1/wiki/Calibration-Guides |

Testing for FW: Ender3-422-BLT-CR10DSPLY-20231203 Out of the box BL bracket caused the probe to be lower than the nozzle so a new bracket was printed to move the BL up 6mm. This was out of range for the FW and the bracket was reprinted 3mm lower and homing succeeded. Not sure if that means a very tight window for probe to touch offset. Final Z offset came to 7.1mm. Homing still seems to have a bit of a glitch, Z only probes one time, flashes the BL and stops, no error and printing will continue. Not sure why no low speed home is attempted (high speed function?). 25 point bed leveling seems to work but most points double touch others don’t. Probe deploys and stows in different ways (randomly). Sometimes it deploys on Z raise, other times just before probing the next point. This was done just for testing before the Z offset was even entered. After setting Z offset (Very nice Z offset routine). Bed level function would not work after that. Probe would go to center and after clearly tripping the sensor would home everything and retry and fail again until finally halting printer. Turned off the BL high speed setting and homing and bed level worked as I perceived to be normal. Not sure high speed BL touch is ready for prime time or is worth it. Could not reproduce the bed level failure even after re enabling high speed BL. Still got random deploys on Z raise. Printing is working great, printed a couple test objects flawlessly, 10mm test cube and a bed level test. Definitely could live with this FW. |

I tested the SKR Build, worked fine. First attempt at a print set off the filament runout, so I disabled then reenabled and it was fine after that... for an hour ;) |

After a few successful, and a few failed prints, on Ender3V2-422-BLTUBL-MPC-20231202.bin on my Ender 3v2 with CRtouch, I discovered my stock extruder stepper motor was clicking/skipping during extrusion. So I ran a few extrusion calibration tests and confirmed it not reliably extruding the correct distance of filament even with the boden tube disconnected. With my finger on the stepper shaft I could feel it skipping a few times per revolution. For the sake of testing, I went back to Creality stock firmware v1.0.7 and the extruder stepper worked fine. I read that some steppers may require more voltage or something, but I wanted to report my experience in case it helps. Thanks! |

Nevermind. It seems maybe i have a hardware issue with my extruder stepper... The missed steps/clicking is just less noticeable on the stock firmware lower extruder speeds, but still happens. I ordered a direct drive upgrade that hopefully fixes it. |

Compiled my own with Configurator and alla is good ender 3 v2 neo 4.2.2 tjc display. but i am trying to figure ut why Prusaslicer make so big thumbnail same python script on both.can only use 100x100/png now .but orcaslicer and superslicer is working with 200x200/PNG.and if i take thumbnail from orca and put in prusaslicer gcode it works . same stlfile gcode in prusa "thumbnail begin 200x200 8892" and in orca "thumbnail begin 200x200 3804" dont now why prusa make them so large, making me crazy arggg ;-) any suggestions |

Yes i think i figure it out ,I took ender3v2.svg from superslicer_2.5.59.3 and changed printer settings/bed shape/texture now i can use 200x200/PNG with prusaslicer_2.7.0 and Tjc display Mriscos 2023-12-04 . I love your firmware and am very happy .thanks for the hard work ! Mikael from sweden :-) |

This version saves the mesh inset and mesh density along with the mesh values in a slot, so you need to save the data into a mesh slot. |

This would then imply I need to update my config.gco to add a slot save. Interestingly enough, my config file loads these values in, but you are right that I didn't get to save a mesh and that resulted in those values being lost on reboot and demo kill. You may want to add a note to the documentation page for the config file to let everyone know that setting inset and density now requires more than a mere M500 to save it. Most of us are certainly used to a statically set mesh inset and density and may want to continue as such by using a single mesh slot (I only use one mesh slot, anyway). Edit: Also, for those of use with models like the Plus, the default insets and density are way off for the larger bed size, so every mesh slot we wish to save are going to need those set before a mesh can be done. This will need to happen somewhere along the path of setting up new slots the first time. I get the reasoning - to allow smaller faster meshes covering only the portion of the bed you intend to use, but it seems like more work for only a few use cases, since you probably don't need to be updating the mesh before every single print.

Hello, I installed the Experimental-DEMO-Ender3V2-427-BLTUBL-T13-LA-MPC-20231203 version on Ender 3 Max Neo, disc 4.2.7, everything worked except linear advance, the printer stopped working after 1 hour of printing, printer killed was thrown. Is it possible that linear advance will not work with creality 4.2.7? |

is that why perhaps when I send the code from pronterface its heats really high when trying to auto tune? What does not make any since is, ive been running the stock firmware since I bought it and never had these issues.I dont believe the very next day the bed thermistor died and not work. It just was finished my lastest prints and not 1 issue. |

Using Ender3V2-SKRME3V3-BLTUBL-MPC-20231218.bin the homing process would just move the y axis forward and never go back to the y endstop. Using Ender3V2-SKRME3V3-MM-20231218.bin I did not have the same issue. What could be causing this? |

Sorry if I talk as if I know nothing. It's because I truly don't know what I am doing. My ender3v2 burnt the original mother board. I bought the skr mini 3v3 thinking direct drop in and go. Finding out not so much. Tried the bin file "Ender3v2-skrme3v3-bltubl-mpc-20231218.bin" flashed to the mini 3v3. Got the adapter cable for the dwin display. Flashed the display board. The firmware starts up but I get no icons on the main page and when I auto home the z homing doesn't function with the BL touch properly. I need help and I don't know how to compile a firmware my self. No coding knowledge. |

The original ender 3v2 build with the original board I did use the adapter. But with the new bigtree tech mini skr 3v3, with the mriscoc build. The adapter says "media init fail" |

I was just wondering if anyone had successfully used the SD card adapter with the ender 3v2 with the bigtreetech skr mini E3v3 with the mriscoc firmware. This firmware is already compiled, and I don't have the source to edit, and I tried to compile my own with the original creality marlin firmware with no success. I am not smart enough to compile my own firmware. I tried and failed every time. I am wondering if this mriscoc firmware has the option of using the SD card adapter. |

I got a bmg clone extruder, and I have changed the e steps up to match the 3:1 ratio change, but it goes so slow. I changed the max E speed up higher, but it still extrudes so slowly. What am I doing wrong? |

Hello, I downloaded and installed the firmware perfectly! No known issues have surfaced from this but the only thing I truly wanted from this was to be able to change my hot ends max temperature to 300C and that doesn't seem to be working... Any fixes for this? I have all the prep work done to be able to use 300C responsibly and without damaging anything but I'm at a loss. |

Is it possible to do a version of the firmware Ender3V2-422-BLTUBL-MPC where the max print temp for the hotend is 300c instead of 260c? I would change that setting the firmware myself, but i have no idea how to do any of that stuff, and i don't want to seriously mess something up. |

Hey Thank You for getting me the information I was needing.
I had a small other question that you might be able to answer. When I was
using you original (basic) Ender firmware 422... When I would perform a
filament change it would do it rapidly, Like crazy fast ejection, it would
dip the filament down into the hotend and then retract it at mach speed...
It was really cool, and super helpful for faster change outs. But sadly
with this T13 firmware I am back to slow-as-molassas with filament changes.
To be honest it feels even slower than the stock firmware did changes.
Any advice here?

Normal extruder and Sprite Pro extruder have different maximum speeds, you can increase the speed of Sprite Pro but there will be some noise due to the gears. |

Definitely stick to short filenames that are unique with every flash; I use date and a 2 or 3 char identifier: You may need to give the SD card a fresh format, too. The bootloader is very sensitive about the SD card. Even if the firmware, which is more forgiving, can read the card after boot up, the bootloader might be having issues reading the card. |

Good plan, but add an incrementing number to the name, as the bootloader remembers the name of the last flashed files to preclude bootlooping and repeatedly flashing that same file. EDIT: Some boards do this, like the F4. I can't say for sure if all boards do this. |

I'm now having 2 issues. 1) When I home X/Y my X is 3mm outside of the bed
area. I then used the Calibration Guides in wiki and adjusted the Physical
settings to show X Min = 3mm / Homed X / X trips the endstop like normal
but stays firmly against it / display now says X = 3, but nothing has
changed. I went extreme with this and set X min = 40/ Homed X / X triggered
endstop and stayed / display now says X=40 / X is still firmly up against
the endstop, No change.
When I start a print the wipe is off the board and just makes a mess. Large
print skirt also prints right off the board and everything is off center.
All prints are very far to the left of center. No adjustments seem to be
making a difference. Probe tests are all good however. (well they look ok
to me, but I'm new to the probe and maybe it's actually off as well, idk)
Issue 2) I ran a PLA preheat and went to my computer to load the print.
While I had my back to the printer my smoke alarm went off insider my
enclosure. I turned around to see the hotend smoking. I opened up the
enclosure to kill the power and noticed the hotend was at 280+ and rising!!
I killed the power. opened the windows and got the fire alarm to turn off.
My white PLA was dripping out of the hotend a burnt black! It freaked me
out and I was very glad I had taken one YouTubers advice to install that
smoke alarm!
I have not had a problem with Preheat since that event. idk what happened.

If the X home position of the nozzle is outside of the bed, the X min is NEGATIVE, so the border of the bed is 0. |

Hey Mriscoc,
Please disregard the X/Y homing issue. I found an adjustment in the Orca
slicer settings that compensated this concern. Thank you again for all your
help

Yeah I have pretty unusual placement of bltouch sensor on the front of cooling duck. Custom build means the subscription to patreon and so on or is it possible to do myself with the souce code somehow? |

Of course you can build it yourself. So you need to change the probe offsets, no the Y minimum position. |
