codecov status badge is affected by coverage of unmerged PRs #2053

Description of issue

We have an unmerged PR being used to determined the latest codecov status of our master branch.

I noticed this because the system tests hadn't yet run and our status badge showed coverage as having dropped all the way to 82%.

It's possible this is related to the merge from master to that PR. I'm not sure.
