Hello,

Are the fonts in jlatexmath-font-greek and jlatexmath-font-cyrillic under GPLv2+? Just seeking to confirm, since, in the License text files, it is not specified.

Oh, and under which License is the special.ttf file?

Hello!

Does anyone have any answer to my question? I am seeking to package a project which got its fonts from jlatexmath for a Linux Distribution, and I am stuck on this since those fonts needs to have a clear license in order to be packaged...

Greek and cyrillic fonts are under GPLv2:
https://github.com/opencollab/jlatexmath/blob/master/LICENSE#L56
FYI, jlm is packaged in Debian, so you shouldn't have any license issues.

Well, I don't know how I missed that, I must've made an error while trying to decompose the fonts licensing.

Also, under which license is https://github.com/opencollab/jlatexmath/blob/master/jlatexmath/src/main/resources/org/scilab/forge/jlatexmath/fonts/maths/jlm_special.ttf?

Ok, I know how I missed that 🤣 !

The License file here is outdated: https://github.com/opencollab/jlatexmath/blob/master/jlatexmath-font-cyrillic/LICENSE

mmh... very good question.
I copied/pasted the glyphs from some fonts I had on my debian OS few years ago and I don't remember which one it was.
Looking at the glyphes in the font I'd say that the E comes from feymr10 but I don't know for the other one.

Thank you for your answer! I guess I'll just remove that font from the project for that package :).

Are the greek fonts under normal GPLv2 or under GPLv2+ ?

I have two other question :D !

So:

  • latin/optional/jlm_cmti10.ttf && latin/optional/jlm_cmssi10.ttf are not mentioned, but I guess it's just a mistake and they are under Knuth?
  • latin/jlm_jlm*10.ttf fonts are not mentioned? But being prefixed by jlm, I guess they are under GPLv2+ ?

Thanks :)!

According to licensecheck, they are under GPLv2+.

In release 1.0.7 for both modules GPL was used in master GPL with linking exception has been introduced (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPL_linking_exception). Was the intention to already have previous versions licensed with GPL with linking instead of pure GPL? (more or less fixing a bug)
