ipad orientation goes dark

Bug Description

Changing orientation of ipad will cause the app to go to a black screen and require force restart

Steps to Reproduce

1)leave ipad on all chats screen while in portrait mode,
2) lock ipad.
3) Without unlocking ipad, open ipad in landscape mode,
4) turn back to portrait mode and unlock ipad
6) App shows all chats screen for half a second and then goes black, requiring force restart of app.

Expected Behavior

Expected: app will transition from landscape to portrait mode and back, without leading to a black screen

To replicate:

1. open app
2. without force closing app, navigate to home screen
3. go back to app
4. app will go dark. no Sentry log error
