Abusive tag is created

I upload a picture named 1970-01-01 John Doe DSC0001.jpg and tag it as John Doe. Two tags get created: John Doe, as expected and John.
Noticed over the last couple of days: didn't happen before. In the last days I have been uploading jpg instead of raw: don't think it's relevant, but anyway.

JPG vs. RAW shouldn't matter in this case. You're correct that it should just add one tag John Doe.
