In https://github.com/ploomber/jupysql-plugin/pull/82/files, I modified the sharedPackages section in package.json because I made ipywidgets an optional dependency.

I opened an issue and the jupyter team suggested that the problem isn't with sharedPackages but with the plugin configuration: jupyterlab/jupyterlab#15151

so we should test if the proposed solution works and get back the old sharedPackages config
