Describe the bug
There are some quite notable lags in Safari. It seems like it might be somehow related to the shuffle button.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Start new game in Safari
Click on the shuffle button several times
Input words as usual using hw keyboard
Observe lags in both the highlighting and the appearance of letters in the input

Desktop (please complete the following information):

OS: macOS Big Sur
Browser: Safari
Arch: ARM (M1)

queleok added bug perf-issue regression and removed bug labels

Haven't observed it before the last refactoring & restyling, hence I suspect a regression
