Question: Barcode scanning

Apologies if this is in the wrong place,

I am wrestling with getting this barcode scanning to work but with no success - any chance anyone can help me determine what I am doing wrong? All I am trying to do is console.log the barcodes scanned but I'm getting no response when pointing the camera at any QR code.
