First I would like to congratulate everyone who helped bring this software together, it is by far the best chess software out there, and its getting better all the time.
So I propose a new mode of analysis that requires that an opening book is loaded. The arrows that are displayed on screen consist of both the top engine moves, and all available book moves, the color of these arrows is derived from analysis only, which the engine thinks are strongest, but the number instead comes from the book, and if any of the top engine moves are not in the book, then a question mark is used to indicate that.
Here are the top engine moves for this position.
This is the book explorer mode, showing all available book moves. In this case its a lichess database with about 8 million games.
And here is my proposed mode, that shows alot more useful information, for example c5 and f6 are popular in the book, but are actually blunders, which is made visible by the red coloring. Nh6 and Be6 are considerd strong by the engine, but they arent in the book, hence the question mark "?"

Honestly I'd almost forgotten the book explorer exists. With the incorporation of the Lichess opening explorer, I suppose people are more likely to use that than .bin books, and I've not integrated that with the book explorer at all. Hmm.
Lichess opening explorer is good, but .bin books have much more control over how you create them, I like the book explorer alot but its a bit clumsy to keep switching between the modes, especially since there is no shortcut for it, perhaps that is why few use it, I think with this upgrade it could see alot more use, as then you could quickly find where people are likely to blunder and falling into traps or even novelties leading to new theory.
Hi rooklift, first I'd like to thank you and all the contributors of Nibbler, I prefer using this software to all other chess guis. (I use it with stockfish 14.1, and it works great with it)
I have an enhancement request, it would be great if there was a depth (or ply) control, to be able to control how many moves in it looks into every variation (or line).
