For Linux users there is more than one way to install a software. There is tons of package types for different distros. Debian has deb packages Fedora and openSUSE has RPM packages etc. Flatpak is pre-installed on almost every distro. When you publish anything on flatpak you don't have to ship a file for different package types (like deb, rpm etc) https://www.flatpak.org/
