Sdispater has been extremely busy creating other really amazing projects like Poetry and Pendulum which he actively develops on.

He hasn't "given up" on the project but it has not received many updates recently and probably will not in the near future.

I'm the creator of Masonite which is a Python framework. I created an ORM called Masonite ORM which is pretty much a drop in replacement for Orator. I'll be releasing it fully very soon. If you are running into issues with this project you can try the new ORM. You can follow the project here:

https://github.com/masoniteframework/orm.

I will be writing more documentation for this project until it is fully released. It is in Beta at the moment but it is very close to being finished and is currently in testing phase.

@josephmancuso are there any co-maintainers here? I'm hoping that #388 can be merged and deployed to PyPI to fix the open CVE. I'm not really in a position to even do a drop in fix, but I want to help get the scan finding resolved.

@sdispater thanks for all of the effort in all your projects! Given all of the interest here if you're looking for co-maintainers in the short term I'll volunteer to help as I'm sure others would as well.

@djfurman No there are currently no Co maintainers on this project I am aware of. Although, I've invested all my time into https://github.com/masoniteframework/orm which is very actively developed and worked on by several people.

I also don't have the ability to release the project so I couldn't fix the CVE
