In forced med rez the number of columns reverts to 40 after a shell cmd

If you start in low rez then switch to st-med using the cmd "rez st-med"
and then issue a shell cmd, e.g. "! mem"
after returning from the shell cmd the number of columns has switched to 40

workaround: switch to low rez then back to med

This may also apply to other resolutions and vim features
