Create a "debug" branch

Chess used to include a few debug pokes, scries, and printfs. However, many have been commented out / removed because they were a pain to keep updating when doing large changes, and a burden to write as part of the relevant PR. We should create a separate debug branch in which all of these things live, that can be periodically rebased onto the develop branch.
