It appears the order items are returned does not match the order of the clients (e.g. Firefox, Android, Chrome)

The /tasks-endpoint does currently not support sorting. ref

Ah, this is actually available but under a separate api call.

https://developer.wunderlist.com/documentation/endpoints/positions

Might not be worth the extra http call?

Ouh, didn't see that, sry.
Imho the extra call is worth it, especially for large lists.
