Searching for a job? Don't remember what jobs you've applied to and which ones you haven't? Can't keep up with your upcoming interviews? Say no more! jobTrack is an application that allows a user to help keep track of the jobs they've applied to. This app offers a clean and simple user interface to aid users in their job search, as well as help them focus on organizing their applied jobs and upcoming interviews. With jobTrack, we are committed to help you simplify your search. We hope jobTrack helps you to find your dream job as soon as possible!

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the application by clicking the heroku deploy link: http://jobtrack-search.herokuapp.com/

Upon navigating to the deployed application link, you will be greeted with the landing page. To get started, you will have to register an account and log in. You can do this by clicking either the 'Log in' or 'Sign up' buttons on the top left of the landing page. jobTrackScreenshot

The application will automatically log you in once you have signed up, but if you already have an account, you may click the log in button and you may enter your details in the log-in form shown below: jobTrackScreenshot

  1. Once you log in or sign up, you will be taken to your job dashboard.

jobTrackScreenshot You may add a job listing manually by clicking the 'Add Job' button on the side bar. You may specify specific details about the listing, provide a url, add a status to the listing, and even upload and attach supporting job documents for a particular listing. jobTrackScreenshot Once you have filled out the information and added your documents, you may click the submit button. Once you do, you will be able to see the job listings you've added on your dashboard. jobTrackScreenshot In order to help keep you organized, when you have saved multiple jobs to your dashboard, you may click the headers on the table to sort your job listings by that header. jobTrackScreenshot Alternatively, you may use the search bar on the sidebar located on the left-hand side of the screen to search for a specific job on your dashboard. Your dashboard will hide irrelevant results automatically. jobTrackScreenshot You may click a job listing you've saved on your dashboard to bring up it's details and documents for your convenience. Additionally, you may update, add, and save any details about the job application you've saved. Simply update the fields as needed and click the green checkmark to save your updates. jobTrackScreenshot

  1. You may either click the 'Search New' tab on the side bar, or the 'Job Search' button on the navigation bar on the top of the page if you wish to browse job listings from other job sites.

Once you have navigated to the page, you will notice two input fields. You may use these fields to query results from either Github's job API, or from The Muse's job API by using the radio button. Once you have searched for your results, you may choose to save a listing to your dashboard, or view the listing on it's respective page. jobTrackScreenshot

Once you click the save button, a message will appear to confirmed that you've saved the listing to your dashboard. jobTrackScreenshot

  1. You may click the View Profile button under the Profile dropdown on the sidebar to bring up your personal profile.

You may choose to edit details on your profile by using the input fields found on the page. Simply click the submit button to update your profile information. jobTrackScreenshot

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit permission
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Enforcement Responsibilities

Community leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Community leaders have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces, and also applies when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces. Examples of representing our community include using an official e-mail address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the community leaders responsible for enforcement at [INSERT CONTACT METHOD]. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

All community leaders are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.

Enforcement Guidelines

Community leaders will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:

1. Correction

Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional or unwelcome in the community.

Consequence: A private, written warning from community leaders, providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.

2. Warning

Community Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.

Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, for a specified period of time. This includes avoiding interactions in community spaces as well as external channels like social media. Violating these terms may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.

3. Temporary Ban

Community Impact: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior.

Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period of time. No public or private interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, is allowed during this period. Violating these terms may lead to a permanent ban.

4. Permanent Ban

Community Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward or disparagement of classes of individuals.

Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.
