Pure Storage FlashArray adapter for Cisco UCS Director

Overview

The FlashArray UCS Director adapter helps automate FlashStack deployments. FlashStack is a converged infrastructure reference architecture from Pure Storage that includes Cisco Unified Compute System (UCS), Cisco Nexus ethernet and MDS Fibre Channel switches.

Supported Storage Version

Any FlashArray Hardware running:

  • Purity 4.x
  • Purity 5.x
  • Purity 6.x

Deploy/Modify the Pure Storage Connector

  1. Log in to Cisco UCS Director by using the Admin role credential
  2. In Cisco UCS Director, from the Administration menu, select Open Automation
  3. On the Connectors tab, click Add or Select Existing Connector and Click Modify
  4. Click Open. Select the PureStorageUCSDirectorAdapter v3.1 (UCSD 6.7.2).zip
  5. Click Upload, and then click Submit
  6. If the connector is not listed as Enable, select the newly added psucs module and Click **Enable
  7. Use SSH to connect to the Cisco UCS Director instance and log in as shelladmin (Default password is changeme)
  8. To enable the Pure Storage Connector, stop all services (option 3), and then restart all services (option 4)
  9. [Optional when deploying/updating to v3.1 connecter] Go to the Physical→ Storage→FlashArray account’s edit/modify button and provide the correct FlashArray IP Address (For more details check the Troubleshooting section in the User Guide)
  10. Note: After Cisco UCS Director becomes available, be sure to check that the Pure Storage Connector is Enabled/Active.
