Overview

This release comes with a new hash algorithm named "Cryptonight-Heavy" which is designed to avoid the coin is mined by specific-designed hardware devices, i.e. ASICs that potentially causes centralized mining and privacy leaks.

This is required a network hardfork at height# 116520. So, please update your binaries as soon as possible.

Overview

IMPORTANT! This release implements a hardfork that comes effective at blockchain height# 21300. Please update your nodes/wallets immediately!

This point release is to address serious problem created by flash high hashrate (up to x20 folds) to utilize a flaw in old algorithm for network difficulty calculation that is too slow in response to sudden hashrate spike. New algorithm is designed to be more sensitive to hashrate surge leaving much smaller "free" gap for attackers.

Major changes:

New algorithm for calculation of network difficulty, major contributed by @haruto-tanno and zawy12
Shorter time limit for block timestamp: 30 minutes from current time instead 2 hours in original fork

Hokkaido, Official Release

Overview

This is the first release of Sumokoin cryptocurrency, a fork from Monero, named "Hokkaido". "Hokkaido" release mainly bases on Monero v0.10.1.0 (Wolfram Warptangent, Point Release 1) with some improvements/bug fixes from later versions.

Some major changes (vs Monero):

• Fresh blockchain with no hardforks (obviously)
• Different block reward emission scheme ("Camel distribution"). See README for details
• RingCT forced for all transactions with mininum mixin allowed = 12
• Optimal block reward for miners, no reward penalty with default block building
• (Slightly) different block size limit/growth and fee structure
• Wallet mnemonic seed comprises 26 words
• Some wallet cli UX improvements
